As dissent grows in his own party and the nation is gripped by floods and power cuts David Cameron visits Rwanda to highlight his party's commitment to international development. I have my doubts about the Tory trip to Rwanda but wish them luck - no matter what their motives I think that the fact that they are out there is a good thing.

However the truth is that many Tories will be baffled by Cameron's decision to leave Britain at a time when the party is looking increasingly to have lost its way. In the end it may well just be that the Conservative party is not capable of being led and that it will remain lost for some years to come - eventually disappearing altogether (we can all wish).
